- וָאלִיf. (ואל, cmp. b. h. יָעַל a. הוֹאִיל) propriety. לא ו׳ it is unbecoming. Ned.8b לא ו׳ למישראוכ׳ Ar. (ed. שרי, Var. יאי; Naḥm. יאלי) it is unbecoming (for a pupil) to absolve from a vow in a place where his teacher lives. Contr. וָלָא.
